The Avengers #223

The Avengers  #223

It was right after Guardians of the Galaxy, that me and two of my other friends set out to the comic book store, looking for more thrilling adventures set in the marvel universe. With a quick walk up to store while discussing many important topics like who was Howard the Duck, what was better, Marvel or DC and how amazing Guardians of the Galaxy was.

The three of us walked into the shop, one of us being a newcomer to the comic universe, one of us being a huge fan and me, starting my collection of comics after watching most of the films in the marvel universe.

I had in mind what I was getting, an Avengers comic. With a 10 minute limit in the shop before the three of us would have to run to get onto the bus, I had to be quick in deciding what edition of the Avengers I was going to get. I wanted to get an edition of the Avengers from quite a fair time ago.

I ended up getting, 1982 (issue 223) edition of the Avengers, which had the most original line up I could find. This wouldn’t make a difference though as I was about to find out that only Ant-Man and Hawkeye appeared in this issue. With a price of only two pounds, I walked out the shop quite pleased with myself. I got straight to reading it when I got home, very excited.

The plot is simple; Hawkeye comes back to carny (a circus, where he used to have an act) after a letter from Marcella (owner of carny). What he doesn’t know that Marcella is trouble, with the taskmaster having a hand in it. Hawkeye will have to try and stop him, with some assistants from ant-man.

It was very easy to jump into, without any prior knowledge to be needed.   With a great artist and writer, I can see how many people would have enjoyed this back in 1980s. Another high was that we got to learn more about Hawkeye origins, which I liked, as he seem to just be there (in the movie the Avengers 2012) without a history of some sort.

The only downside is that they seem to want to make the taskmaster as confusing as they could, when it was a very simple concept. So expect from that it was perfect, with my mum even enjoying some of the classic advertisements.

Suarez bites again!

If you haven't been living under a huge nuclear base, planting bombs to explode it recently then I'll guess you have either, heard about this  certain incident on the news, or when people are running out of fresh things to talk about. If you haven't heard about then good luck with planting the bombs under the nuclear base.

Just in case you don't have a good memory I will remind about this incident, "Uruguay's Luis Suarez has been accused of biting a player for the third time in his career after an incident with Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup".
My opinion this matter is that they should make Suarez a police dog so that he gets to do what he loves the most and it will be for a good cause. He could even be a dog that controls the crowd at football match as  all the supports will be up to date with Suarez "talent in biting world".

Do you have a opinion on this matter, do you think they should give him special biting training , or that he should been giving fourth chance. Whatever your opinion tell me!
